Who we are and what we do

We, Molekula Group, are a leading chemical supplier offering a wide variety of chemical substances and compositions in both research and bulk quantities. Molekula has been sourcing and distributing chemical products across the globe for a wide range of chemical application for over twenty years.

Our journey with Metrohm began with the 915 KF Ti-Touch (Volumetric Karl Fischer titrator) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the difficulties faced by everyone at that time, Metrohm’s sales team helped us develop and grow our analytical department and provided invaluable support surrounding installation and staff training. Since then we have continued to expand and update our analytical processes and technologies with Metrohm, including but not limited to: OMNIS auto-titrator and the MIRA XTR (handheld Raman system).

Challenges

One of the  many of the challenges we face in the chemical industry is ensuring quick and accurate substance identification. The wide range of products we handle includes non-hazardous substances as well as materials which could be fatal if handled incorrectly. The versatility of the MIRA XTR allows for quick and accurate material identification without requiring operators to open packaging and be exposed to the substances. The vast library space allows for the device to store information on thousands of substances.

Previously, samples always had to be taken just to confirm the substance identity, and if the material was fluorescent, a reliable scan would have been impossible. However, with the Metrohm XTR software, small peaks can be extrapolated to provide a unique spectrum that can be consistently identified. With this function, the non-fixed laser and features like “stand-off” scanning, material identification is easier, safer and more reliable.

This also helps to guard against the potential hazard of chemical spills, or where old labels may have degraded. The MIRA system can store data to help identif y the hazards as well as the substance components. The MIRA XTR is now an integral part of our on-site safety procedures.

Why Metrohm?

Metrohm equipment is intuitive and easy to use, simplifying even the most complex analytical processes. They offer a range of support from additional training on how to use the instruments, to offering expert advice with tricky analytical processes where reliable results may be difficult to obtain. Metrohm also have Service Engineers close by to help out with any issues that may arise.
