Metrohm UK, are seeking a Development Chemist to join our method development laboratory in Daresbury, near Runcorn, in Cheshire. 

The role is a temporary (maternity cover) position for twelve months.

Applicant Profile

  • Experience working with Metrohm titrators, Karl Fischers or IC’s is strongly desirable.  Any experience developing methods is very advantageous.
  • Inquisitive background looking to improve their skill sets.
  • A degree in chemistry (or a closely related disciplines) is important.
  • Ideal candidates will have good troubleshooting skills, will be able to organise & prioritise multiple tasks, have strong communication skills and will be methodical & trustworthy.
  • International applicants with experience on Metrohm products are welcome to apply, should visa status be secured.

Role

  • Reporting to the UK Laboratory Manager.
  • Developing analytical chemistry applications for Metrohm UK customers, based on auto titration, Karl Fischer and ion chromatography (IC).
  • Maintaining laboratory operations including preparation of stock/calibration solutions, tracking of equipment in the field, cleaning, preparing glassware for subsequent applications & assisting to maintain an active laboratory.

Package

  • Equivalent salary of £24,750-£28,000 dependant on experience
  • Twelve month contract
