Accessories for Pt RDE electrode: auxiliary electrode, reference electrode, measuring vessel

It is recommended to use accessories, such as auxiliary electrode, reference electrode, and measuring vessel, dedicated to the Pt RDE. This is to avoid cross-contamination from or with other electrode materials.

Predefined electrode sets with different types of Pt RDE, driving axle, reference, and auxiliary electrode are available:

CVS electrode equipment with 1 mm platinum electrode (6.5339.000)

Installation

This video shows how to:

Assemble driving axle and RDE tip.

Install Pt RDE in the measuring head.

Install reference and auxiliary electrode.

Connect electrode cables.

Maintenance

Solid-state electrodes, such as a Pt RDE, must be cleaned and conditioned on a regular basis to maintain a constant performance.

Mechanical cleaning, such as polishing with aluminum oxide, is not recommended since it destroys the polished surface. Instead, electrochemical cleaning is recommended. Details about cleaning and conditioning solutions and the voltammetric parameters to be used can be found in the respective application instructions.
