The Metrosep A Supp 10 - 75/4.0 separation column is based on a high-capacity polystyrene-divinylbenzene copolymer with a particle size of only 4.6 µm. Under standard conditions, phosphate elutes between nitrite and bromide. Currently, applications can be optimized by modifying temperature, composition of the eluent and flow.

The capacity of the A Supp 10 - 75/4.0 has been optimized with respect to two aspects: matrix and speed. Baseline separation is achieved in samples with high ionic strength, e.g., for phosphate in cola beverages. Even in the presence of large quantities of nitrate and sulfate, the analysis time remains less than 7.5 minutes. High sample throughput is also of great importance in air analytics.
