GLP and other guidelines oblige users to fully document their analysis data and results. However, the resulting volume of data very quickly shows the limitations of paper, the traditional filing medium. Electronic data processing is the only viable alternative. A software programme is required that collects and archives all measured values and results obtained in the laboratory. The program must run without supervision in the background while the user continues to work on the instrument itself and enters the respective parameters there.
