Multiport photo-electrochemical single-sided cell setup

This is a horizontally mounted, single compartment multiport photo-electrochemical cell. This cell allows several approaches to perform measurements in 2- or 3-electrode setups. It is designed to investigate performance of a thin film photo-anode (e.g. nanocrystalline material or conducting polymer) deposited on a rigid or flexible transparent substrate (typically fused quartz glass).

The cathode (counter electrode) and reference electrode are typically mounted in a top lid, while both side lids can be used to mount up to 4 additional electrodes (e.g. pH meter, thermometer, Clark electrode, etc.). The tubing installed in side lids enables aliquot sample collection (liquid) and supply of gaseous and liquid reagents.

The gas inlet and outlet in the top lid can be used to bubble the solution and evacuate gases from the chamber. It well fits aqueous (EPDM O-Rings) and )organic solvent (FFKM O-Rings) electrolyte requirements. The construction is gas-tight.
