Sucralose is an artificial, non-nutritive sweetener that is approximately 600 times sweeter than saccharose. Sucralose is used in low-calorie refreshments such as soft drinks. Sucralose lends itself readily to determination there using ion-exclusion chromatography. A post-column addition of NaOH is required prior to pulsed amperometric detection.
