Metrohm UK are seeking a candidate for the role of Account Manager for Electrochemistry in the Southern Parts of UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced and successful Account Managers. Metrohm Sales are a critical part of the customer experience, there to ensure technical requirements are investigated and the whole sales process is professionally and competently managed to completion. The candidate must be able to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers in order to aid customers in their success using Metrohm Electrochemistry equipment. This will be done by developing an appropriate level of communication with clients and internal team members to better understand and mitigate any issues the customers may face.
More specifically, the role of the Electrochemistry Account Manager is to generate and deliver sales of the Metrohm Autolab, Vionic and Dropsens products into Academia and industries such as corrosion, battery, energy and sensors.
Additionally, the role will involve providing training and technical support on completion of successful installation of products.
Applicant Profile
The successful candidate would ideally be one of the following:
- An experienced salesperson with knowledge of electrochemistry
- An experienced Electrochemist with experience managing research projects and establishing technical experiments
- Commercially aware chemist with experience using electrochemistry instrumentation
- Individuals who can readily learn the technical aspects required as well as have confidence dealing with people and the commercial demands of the role
Sales responsibilities
- Reporting into Metrohm Electrochemistry Sales Director
- Developing sales strategies
- Working with Metrohm Electrochemistry Team to arrange demonstrations
- Prospecting, lead generation and opportunity management
- Sales visits
- Maintaining and updating CRM system
- Attending exhibitions, seminars
- Providing relevant marketing information for newsletters and for marketing dept.
Technical Responsibilities
- Evaluate the customers research to advise the correct set up of instrumentation for their needs
- Assist with application methodology and procedural writing as and when required
- On-site customer visits and demonstrations
- Commissioning and realisation of projects at customer site
- Provide technical assistance and support
Area
South of UK and South of Ireland
- The candidate must currently live in the UK mainland, ideally located in the sales area specified.
Essential/Desirable Skills
- BSc Hons Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or other relevant sciences
- Electrochemistry knowledge
- Sales experience
- Good understanding of analytical chemistry methodologies
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to people of all levels.
- Full UK driving license
- Previous use of Metrohm laboratory equipment or similar
