True Sodium Content - Breakfast workshop
2019-05-07 09:00 AM - 2019-05-07 12:30 PM (Woodmead - Johannesburg, South Africa)

30 June 2019 is D-day!

This is the date by which the new government-gazetted levels of Sodium in a variety of food products must be reduced. Too much Sodium can lead to heart problems so government's push to lower the levels must be applauded. Typically this analysis has been done by the expensive techniques of AAS / ICP.

The other common, but incorrect, way is by means of a potentiometric titration with AgNO3 to determine salt (NaCl) then convert to sodium (Na)

To ensure that you don’t fall foul of the law, Metrohm invites you to this workshop where three different techniques of determining the TRUE sodium content will be presented / demonstrated.
