Process Implementation Engineer

We are the North American division of world-renown Metrohm AG (Herisau, Switzerland), an industry leader in laboratory instruments and accessories for analytical testing/research. We are looking for an Implementation Engineer, Process Analytics at our corporate headquarters in Riverview, FL.

The Implementation Engineer, Process Analytics role provides an opportunity to work with every facet of our business while continuing to engage with core laboratory products. The variety of the role provides ongoing opportunities for professional growth and allows personal development due to the functional variety.

Essential Functions:

  • Configure and/or test new or refurbished equipment
  • Build, program, and commission process analyzers
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair/refurbish equipment in the field and in-house
  • Travel domestically and Internationally (mainly US, Canada and Mexico; ~50% in total), as required, to support Metrohm equipment and commissioning of process analyzers
  • Conduct routine and non-routine analysis, repair, calibration and service work in compliance with established quality management procedures
  • Respond to technical support inquires related to software, hardware, and basic applications for all product lines
  • Document customer issues and provide feedback to manufacturer as appropriate
  • Other duties, as assigned

Education/Experience/Additional Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Minimum BS degree in chemistry or five years of related work experience with chemistry based instruments.  Alternative equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating or supporting products from Metrohm or other manufacturer’s such as: titration, ion chromatography, and process instrumentation.

  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
  • Ability to understand fluid dynamics and chemical resistance of wetted parts
  • Proficient in Visio and Outlook; Intermediate skills with other Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to learn and master multiple instrument software platforms
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Understand and be able to apply/recommend appropriate method development for laboratory and process instruments
  • Experience working in a process environment preferred
