Application report: Fully automated determination of the iodine adsorption number of industrial soot

Depending on the area of application, the soot particles of industrial soot (carbon black) must exhibit a certain size or, more precisely, surface. This means that accurate monitoring of this parameter is mandatory. Titration can be used to determine the iodine adsorption number and thus the size of the surface of soot. Standard test methods for iodine adsorption are described in the US standard ASTM D1510-06 and the ISO standard 1304:2006. The complete automation of this method saves time and improves the accuracy of the measurement.
