Determination of chloride in the filter dust of a waste incineration plant

For more than 20 years, the association «Zweckverband Müllverwertung Schwandorf» (ZMS) has been operating a central waste incineration plant that processes around 1100 tons of domestic, bulky, and commercial waste per day. Flue gas is generated during the incineration and subsequently purified in a number of steps before it is released into the environment. The amount of chlorides in the filter dust from the flue gas purification is analyzed, as this serves as an auxiliary quantity for the evaluation of the other acidic flue gas components contained in the load.
