Metrohm Spectro is seeking a Marketing Communications Manager to support our scientific instrument and spectroscopy component businesses based at our Plainsboro, NJ facility. This position oversees and delivers the advertising, marketing and creative activities for our products. In this role, you work with our team of product and application leaders to determine the appropriate message to market, develop the creative content to support that message and ensure market uptake through a multichannel marketing plan to generate brand awareness and customer responses. This leader also facilitates internal communications of marketing activities and handles supervisory responsibilities including hiring, coaching, motivating, and utilizing appropriate corrective action, as needed.
A natural curiosity about science and technology are required for this position and some college coursework in the areas of chemistry, biology and physics is preferred. Most of all you need to be a self-starting creative that can take on the challenge of sending a simple message about a complex product to a technical audience. You should be motivated by starting a conversation and nurturing a customer through a purchase process that spans a few weeks to several months.
Your role is holistic, you and your team will be responsible for paid online advertising, our web presence (including our e-commerce platforms), tradeshows, social media and local and regional events. You will work as a team and will supplement your efforts with external suppliers as necessary. Experience in an agency or working with an agency is preferred.
Essential Functions:

- Ability to bring a strategic marketing plan to life by deploying content that effectively communicates marketing messages and calls-to-action
- Project management proficiency to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Essential Tasks:
- Assists in the development of a marketing plan that increases brand awareness and helps our sales organizations nurtures leads
- Oversees our marketing budget and allocates resources as necessary to achieve the promotional plan objectives
- Leads the team’s efforts to share important activities and messages with the Metrohm organization through the Metrohm Hub
- Oversees the promotional plan and is responsible for deployment of the following tactics:
Web content and SEO for product and e-commerce sites
Search and PPC advertising
Social media
E-mail marketing
Event promotion
MUSA specific brochures, sales sheets, application notes, technical notes, promotional material and other collateral in printed or digital format
Education / Experience / Additional Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar areas required
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a generalist marketing or similar role, with proven ability to manage large projects
- Experience leading and growing at team, including performance management and hiring
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present ideas and concepts to various levels in the organization and to customers
- Strong attention to detail and great organization skills
- Comfortable in a faced-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
