Position Title: Electrical Engineer

Reports to: Lead Electrical Engineer

Department: Engineering

Classification: Exempt / Full-Time

Purpose:

Company located in Laramie, WY looking for Electrical Engineer with embedded systems experience.

Specializing in spectrographic chemical identification equipment, we build exciting instruments with applications from security and defense to pharmaceutical. We utilize the science of raman spectroscopy to analyze unknown compounds and mixtures in the field. We are continuously innovating our products and pursuing new markets.

We are looking for a self-motivated and passionate person to join our team. This person will work with business and technology teams to plan, develop, and manage the testing and delivery of a multitude of advanced projects. This person should have strong project management experience, good communication skills, and a solid understanding of electrical design and testing methodologies.

Essential Duties:

  • Participate in the design, testing and implementation of electronic subassemblies and embedded systems
  • Assist in system design of microcontroller systems including power management, high dynamic range analog circuits, memory, motor control, communication subsystems, and firmware design for control of electronic subsystems
  • Development of PCB test fixtures and procedures for QC
  • Collaborate with Mechnical and Software Engineering groups to insure proper fit and function of electronic assemblies
  • Strong commitment to good engineering discipline and processes including design review and unit testing
  • Adherence to development standards, policies, and procedures
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and safety rules
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Experience with Eagle, AutoCad Fusion ECAD, or Altium software
  • Experience with C, C++, Digital Design, SPI, I2C, UART and USB
  • Experience with PCB assembly and strong soldering skills
  • MQX, uC O/S, TIRTOS or similar embedded operating systems
  • Familiarity with CE Mark design requirements (ESD, EMC, EMI, Safety) preferred
  • ISO 9001 experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks

Desired Qualifications:

  • Embedded Linux and/or Windows development background
  • Experience in FPGA desing of high speed interfaces. (LVDS, MIPI, DDR)
  • Hand PCB assembly containing descrite parts as small as 0402 and QFN IC packages
