Brochure: Power Plant Analysis

This brochure provides the reader with a practice-related overview of quality monitoring in power plants. The brochure focuses on the analysis of process waters, but also presents applications addressing the quality control of turbine oils, fuels and operating materials. The subject of "Power Plant Analysis" covers all types of thermal power generating stations, starting with those that are conventionally operated and ranging to nuclear plants (boiling-water and pressurized-water reactors).

All thermal power generating stations use water as the central (working) medium. It is used for cooling in its liquid form and for driving the turbines in its gaseous form. In addition, it moderates the fission neutrons in nuclear power plants, thus controlling the nuclear fission. Sophisticated water chemistry guarantees safety and efficiency in the power plant. It is precisely for this purpose that the practical information contained in this brochure is intended.
