Sales Director

We are on the hunt for a seasoned Sales Director to grow and strategically support our business in the Mid-West region.  

Position Summary:

The Sales Director is a strategic business partner responsible for the profitable achievement of North America sales objectives associated with Metrohm’s product lines.  In addition the Sales Director manages all aspects of running an efficient sales team; including hiring, supervising, coaching, motivating and utilizing appropriate correction action, as needed.

 Essential Functions:

  • Implement national sales programs by developing field sales action plans to build and maintain an opportunity pipeline that supports annual revenue targets.
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
  • Deliver a positive customer experience, working collaboratively with applications, technical support, marketing, sales leadership, and Applikon HQ.
  • Participate effectively as a strategic member of sales leadership team.
  • Maintain regional sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Sustains regional sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Continually advance professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Coordinates with the Marketing Department to assigning and support salespersons at all company exhibits, trade shows, seminars and other customer-facing events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Education / Experience / Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and a Master’s degree or MBA is strongly preferred; plus a minimum of ten years' related sales and management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills in sales management and knowledge of CRM software.
  • Track record of superior performance metrics and business analysis

  • High detail orientation and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude including knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable Motor Vehicle Report
