Regional Applications Specialist

We are looking for a Regional Applications Specialist to join our Marketing team in our Fountain Valley, CA office. It's your chance to be a part of a dynamic team and make an immediate impact!

The Regional Applications Specialist will serve as a technical resource for customers, marketing, sales and service.  The primary responsibility of this role is to support the sales and business development process by developing analysis methods for the characterization of new analytes, assisting the sales team with instrument demonstrations, and providing technical expertise to the region. The Regional Applications Specialist will support multiple types of instrumental analysis techniques and have a deep understanding of Titration and/or applied electrochemical analysis using techniques such as VA, CVS, Potentiostat/Galvanostats, and Spectroelectrochemistry.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document user-friendly solutions for new and existing applications as part of market and business development and pre-sale feasibility studies
  • Work with Product Specialists and Product Managers to define/develop applications for competitive positioning of Metrohm USA products
  • Provide VoC feedback to Product Management teams
  • Provide applications assistance in response to customer inquiries (both internal and external), including education, training and on-site visits
  • Write technical documentation, analytical reports, and presentations for customers and the Metrohm USA Product Team(s)
  • When necessary, provide post-sale applications support by assisting the technical support and field service teams and participating in the Escalations process
  • Performs or assists with internal and external training sessions. These may be at a Metrohm or customer facility. Training can include classroom lecture and hands on instrument training.
  • Assist Sales Representatives with instrument demonstrations
  • Requires up to 20% travel including international travel for global project work
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Physics or related field with two to four years of technical experience in Titration and/or Electrochemistry is required. A Masters or Doctoral degree is encouraged, but not required.
  • Must obtain and maintain Metrohm Applications Pass.
  • Intermediate to Advanced level hands-on experience with Titration, or Electrochemistry (Manual or Automated) is required.
  • Experience with automated measurements is desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while following company guidelines, apply judgement in real-time, and deal with challenging problems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and systematic troubleshooting skills
  • Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
