Metrohm SA is a subsidiary of Metrohm AG (Switzerland) - the world’s number 1 supplier of potentiometric titration equipment. In addition to titration, Metrohm focuses on the techniques of pH and Conductivity measurements, Karl Fischer water determinations, ion chromatography and Voltammetry. Special instruments include Metrohm’s Rancimat for oxidative stability of fats, oils and biodiesel and for determining the thermal stability of plastics.

We are looking for a Sales Representative to join our Team at our Somerset West Branch.

Metrohm SA has been established as a regional support center for Sub-Saharan Africa. Our products are widely used in industries such as the environmental, pharmaceutical, educational, food, mining, water treatment, electroplating, petrochemical, etc. Our Company culture: We have a strong Swiss ethic, attention to detail and emphases on building knowledge. As our Sales Representative, you will:

  • Sale of our complete range of Metrohm laboratory instruments to customers all over the Western Cape
  • Travel throughout the territory with occasional trips to our National Head office.
  • To actively call on existing customers and develop new markets in order to generate revenue from sales and/or technical support.
  • Follow up on and process sales leads based on information gathered from trade shows, marketing campaigns, telephone inquiries, and prospective local companies.
  • Demonstrate product samples to customers.
  • Attend trade-shows and exhibits to promote our products.

The qualified candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (or related discipline) from an accredited college or university and two years of related sales experience in analytical instruments and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Organizational skills to balance customer visits and requests, CRM documentation and reporting to Branch Manager.
  • Great written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to read and interpret business/professional journals and technical procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • A valid driver's license
  • Outgoing, assertive and strong communicator
