Tips from daily practice: Reliable analysis results in IC through traceability to certified reference materials

For the comparability of analysis results, it is of central importance that the individual measurements be based on internationally recognized reference materials or standards. Results that can be assigned unambiguously to the standards on which they are based are referred to as traceable. In recognized quality assurance standards (e.g., in ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, EN 45001), complete traceability of the measurement results is required in order to ensure the reliability of the measurement results.
