Application report: Tips and tricks for the determination of the water content in gases in accordance with ISO 10101-3

Some gases such as natural gas or the inert gases used in the chemical and technical industry must be as dry as possible. The standard ISO 10101-3 describes the water content determination in natural gas using coulometric Karl Fischer titration. On this basis, Metrohm has developed a method for water content determination, not only in natural gas but also in other gases – including gases that do not react with the Karl Fischer reagent. A few tips and tricks for coulometric water content determination in gases have been assembled here.
