Service Product Manager

Essential Responsibilities:

The Service Product Manager will serve as the technical and marketing expert for Metrohm Post-Sale products including our service plans, service pricing, after-sales training, consumables and installation. A key position on the Product Marketing team, this leader will continuously evaluate the position of Metrohm Post-Sale products in the market and design and execute marketing campaigns to drive lead generation and revenue growth.

Responsible for nearly $30M in revenue, the Service Product Manager will own the entire post-sale customer experience. This person will be responsible for promoting and growing the revenue for service support plans, consumables, installation and training for all Metrohm USA products. The Product Manager will oversee the production of internal and external materials for existing products and the launch of new products. This leader will drive product leadership including product line logistics (pricing, part numbers), sales tools and marketing strategies. Leveraging a background in chemistry and chemical analysis, the Product Manager must have a basic understanding of all Metrohm products including titration, ion chromatography, spectroscopy and electrochemistry.

The Product Manager will work with the VP of Marketing to assemble the marketing plan for all Service products. This will include scoping and developing the marketing message(s), collateral, lead generation activities and sales training material necessary to achieve the revenue and lead generation goals for the assigned products.

Working closely with the Service team and other product managers, the Service Product Manager will monitor market trends and be responsible for incorporating these new developments into the overall Marketing plan.

The Service Product Manager is also key to the product launch process and will take on responsibility for the process of introducing new products or product enhancements to our sales and service channels and to our end customers. This includes working together with the Marketing Communication team to generate promotional materials including: 

  • Marketing collateral
    • Brochures
    • Service delivery documentation
    • Customer-facing presentations
    • Quality documentation
    • Customer facing sales tools
    • Web content.

Travel expected to be in range of 15-25%, domestic and international. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education & Experience: 

Minimum BS degree, MS or PhD preferred in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, pharmaceutical sciences or related field.  A minimum of 3 years of direct experience with a BS degree is desired or 1 - 2 years of experience with a higher-level degree is acceptable.

  • Candidate must have direct user experience in analytical instrumentation with preference given to candidates that have experience with any of the following: titration, ion chromatography, spectroscopy or electrochemistry.
  • Prior product management experience in analytical instrumentation is preferred, but not required.
  • While the ideal candidate will have experience, in a particular application area (i.e. pharmaceutical, forensic, etc.), no particular vertical market is more desirable than any other.
