Chemical and physical parameters such as moisture, acid value, and viscosity are critical analytical parameters that are used to define when a product moves to the next manufacturing step or is ready for release. These critical parameters are often difficult to measure quickly and reliably. Even a simple, single parameter measurement such as moisture can be challenging and is influenced by factors such as concentration, matrix, sample state, and sampling method.

In this educational webcast, Elena Hagemann, an Application Scientist, and Dr. Adam J. Hopkins, the Spectroscopy Product Manager, both at Metrohm USA, will discuss how to reliably measure critical analytical parameters with near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. Examples such as low-level moisture in solvents and intrinsic viscosity of polymers will demonstrate how NIR can be used to replace time- and material-intensive chemical and physical measurements.
