Handheld Raman spectroscopy is most frequently used in regulated industries to identify and verify materials. Unlike almost all other analytical instruments, handheld Raman traditionally required users to make measurements using proprietary data acquisition methods that could not be customized. As different samples mandate unique measurement parameters, this one-size-fits-all approach caused concern among operators, method developers and quality management. Further complicated by poor sampling consistency, the uptake and utilization of handheld Raman has stalled. Overcoming these issues requires a very different approach to the measurement.

In this webinar, Dr. Ravi Kalyanaraman of Bristol-Myers Squibb will discuss how recent advances in handheld Raman instrumentation overcome these concerns. Improvements in sampling technology, method development, and instrument management will all be presented in the context of the compliant lab and manufacturing environment.

What you’ll learn:
  • Discover how improvements in sampling and method development lead to a better user experience and more reliable data.
  • Understand the key roadblocks at each user level to handheld Raman implementation.
  • Learn the benefits of method based handheld Raman spectroscopy and how it can be implemented in the 21 CFR Part 11 compliant environment.
