The Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) provides information regarding the efficiency of the anaerobic fermentation process of a substrate in biogas production. If the BMP is known, then waste storage can be adjusted accordingly, thus optimizing fermentation. Near-infrared spectroscopy with Flash BMP® calibration is suitable for rapid and simple determination of the BMP.
