Metrohm Young Chemist Award:     Terms and Conditions

  • This contest open to undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate or PhD students, enrolled at an academic institution located in Malaysia at the time of submission.
  • Contestants should be a Malaysia Citizen and reside in Malaysia at the time of submission and through October 2018.
  • Your work must demonstrate novel research or an innovative approach to the applications of titration, ion chromatography, spectroscopy and/or electrochemistry, and must be substantially complete by the date of submission.
  • An abstract of your work must be submitted online with detailed contact information, and received latest by July 1st 2018.
  • Metrohm Malaysia is not responsible for any costs or problems in transmitting entries.
  • An objective panel of Metrohm Malaysia applications experts, whose decision is final and binding, will choose one winner by August 2018.
  • The Contest Winner will be rewarded with an amount of RM7,000 (FIRST), RM5,000 (SECOND) and RM3,000 (THIRD) respectively.
  • Metrohm Malaysia will alert the winner by phone or email, as provided by the entrant at the time of abstract submission.
  • Metrohm Malaysia will provide the winners with transportation, lodging and entry to the Award Event (costs for any travel companion(s) and all incidentals as well as award taxes are the responsibility of the winner)
  • The winners will present his/her work at a designated date/time (to be determined) at the Award Event. Should the winner not agree to fulfill these presentation obligations, he/she therefore forfeits eligibility and a new winner will be chosen.
  • The First winner will also be entered into a contest for a trip to our headquarters in Herisau, Switzerland. An objective panel of experts at Metrohm International Headquarters, whose decision is final and binding, will select three candidates from the pool of winners of all national Young Chemist Award contests.
  • Metrohm Malaysia is solely responsible for this contest and award.
  • In case of any dispute, the company has the right to make the final decision.
