Online analysis of boric acid in cooling water PWRs

Boric acid in the primary circuit of pressurized water reactors (PWR) aims at absorbing neutrons and thus controls the reactor's reactivity. Therefore, quasi-continuous monitoring of boric acid concentrations is crucial. The analyzer's intelligent software copes with the large differences in boric acid concentration and automatically switches titrant burette concentrations to ensure the highest accuracy throughout the measuring range. Other applications regarding the water circuits of the power industry are silica, sodium, nickel, zinc, calcium, magnesium, and chloride.
