Traces of fluoride and chloride are analyzed in a soda solution. A simple dilute-and-shoot method is used for this purpose. Separation is carried out with the high-capacity Metrosep A Supp 16 - 250/4.0 column, quantification with conductivity detection in accordance with sequential suppression. The recovery rates for fluoride and chloride are 103 and 93%, respectively. The method detection limit (MDL) is calculated by repeated injections of a 10 µg/kg standard solution as MDL = 3.143 × std. dev.
