Small instruments - high quality
The Metrohm compact class contains everything that
an efficient ion chromatograph requires: double-piston
pump, pulsation absorber, electromagnetic injection
valve, peristaltic pump, high-performance detector,
eluent organizer as well as a data acquisition and processing
module. All components which come into contact with
the sample or eluents are metal-free.
A class of its own
The 861 Advanced Compact IC
represents a further extension to the range of compact
Metrohm IC instruments. Since their introduction in
1999, this new instrument class has become firmly established.
Extremely compact design, high sensitivity, low detection
limits, comprehensive automation possibilities –
all combined with very easy handling – form the
basis for the outstanding performance and success of
these IC systems. In addition, excellent price-performance
ratio and low running costs have opened up completely
new application areas for ion chromatography.
With a footprint of one-and-a-half DIN A4 pages and
a height of only 45 cm the Metrohm Compact IC Systems
contain the maximum of IC in the minimum of space:
- Injection valve
- IC Pump - extremely low-pulsation double-piston pump
with a flow range of 0.2 to 2.5 mL/min and a maximum
pressure of 35 MPa (5040 psi); a connection for an
external compressed gas supply is not necessary
- Pulsation absorber - even with low-level pressure
variations the pulsation absorber reliably protects
your column against damage
- Column compartment - the perfect insulation of the
housing not only creates thermally stable conditions
for the columns, it also shields the system against
electromagnetic interference
- Columns - no matter whether anion columns with or
without chemical suppression, cation columns or separating
columns for organic acids - the Compact IC Systems
have space for all of them
- Suppressor - the "MSM" Metrohm
Suppressor Module is already included in the instrument
versions for chemical suppression. Pressure resistant,
with fully automatic regeneration, high performance,
top reproducibility and - last but not least - a long
working life: the "MSM" is
and remains the suppressor of choice
- Peristaltic pump - the "MSM" is
regenerated and rinsed in counterflow
- Detector block - the heart of the instrument with
its additional insulation is also built in
With these favorably-priced and compact ion chromatographs
Metrohm has opened up IC as a method for routine analysis
in all laboratories.
The Compact IC System requires a PC or notebook (minimum
configuration: Pentium 1 processor, 16 MB internal memory,
1 free COM interface).
