In order to extend the range of applications of the Metrohm
Robotic Sample Processors even further, we have developed
a thermostattable sample rack suitable for numerous
new applications. Heating or cooling your samples
is no problem with the new water bath rack, which covers
the temperature range between –10 °C and +50
°C.
The use of a separate heating or cooling system means
that the constant-temperature medium and the bath filling
are completely separated. This has two decisive advantages:
The bath cannot overflow as liquid does not need to
be added or removed, and you are completely free in
the choice of your heating or cooling medium. As this
medium is contained in a separate, closed circulation
system it cannot come into contact with the thermostatted
samples and therefore cannot influence them in any way.
The heating and cooling spirals ensure efficient
and uniform thermostatting of the water bath.
The bath inserts can be removed and exchanged for the
other racks available. This means that you are very
flexible regarding the number and size of your samples.
No matter
whether you use 11 mL test tubes or beakers with
a capacity of 75, 120, 150 or even 250 mL, each sample
is perfectly
thermostatted. A sophisticated holding system keeps
the test tubes and beakers from floating.
The water bath rack is mounted in
a collection trough that takes care of any water splashes.
If sample solutions are cooled to temperatures below
room temperature then condensation is likely to occur
on the outside walls. This condensed water also flows
into the collection trough and from there into the waste
canister.
