PSTAT software
Due to its intuitive operation, the PSTAT software is particularly suitable for electrochemistry training. Measurement is the essence. That is why the software only includes functions that are really important for measurement, i. e. measuring parameters, curves and manual signal evaluation.
Measuring techniques
The PSTAT software provides all essential electrochemical measuring techniques.
- The mechanism and kinetics of electrode reactions may be analyzed with the help of cyclic voltammetry (CV) . This allows statements about electrochemical reaction reversibility to be made and important parameters, such as diffusion coefficients and reaction constants to be calculated. In addition cyclic voltammetry is also suitable for analysis and characterization of modified sensors.
- Differential pulse voltammetry (DP) and square wave voltammetry (SWV) are the classical techniques for quantitative determination of electrochemical active substances. The supplied screen-printed electrodes allow direct measurement of metals like mercury or organic substances like vitamin C. Upon modifying the sensors, for example with a bismuth film, it is possible to determine cadmium and lead.
- With chronoamperometric detection (AD) and the supplied screen-printed electrodes built and function principle of an amperometric biosensor, i.e. a glucose sensor, can be easily compiled.
Screen-printed electrodes (SPE)
Inexpensive, disposable screen-printed electrodes make electrochemistry easy. The electrode is inserted into the holder and measurement can begin without any further preparation. Each sensor contains the 3 required electrodes: the working electrode, made of carbon, gold or platin as well as a silver reference electrode and an auxiliary carbon electrode on a ceramic holder.
Monograph «Electrochemistry – A Laboratory Textbook»
The monograph provides a very easy introduction to the field of electrochemistry. The handy book includes experiments which describe fundamental phenomena of electrochemical analytics. These experiments can be easily carried out with the 910 PSTAT mini and the provided electrodes. |
