The Karl Fischer Titrando for the modern titration laboratory
In addition to the Karl Fischer mode (KFT), the high-end titrator is also equipped with the SET mode and can thus perform titrations to a predefined endpoint.
"iTrode ready": As a result of the high-resolution, galvanic measuring interface - now also for the first time with additional digital measuring input for the intelligent "iTrodes" electrodes - it is additionally possible to perform pH measurements with a maximum of precision.
Thanks to the four MSB connectors, up to four Dosinos can be connected to the 901 Titrando. These can be used not only for titration, but also for the automated addition of sample, standard and auxiliary solutions such as solubility promoters. Furthermore, you have all of the Liquid Handling commands at your disposal, which means that the aspiration of exhausted reagent and the addition of fresh solvent can also be automated.

The sophisticated control algorithm of the Titrando is tailored to the characteristics of the Karl Fischer reaction and guarantees maximum-precision results. In addition, you can select a polarized alternating current (I
pol) or a defined voltage (U
pol) to be applied to the electrode. Both working methods ensure fast, accurate results. Different reagents require different parameters. The 901 Titrando allows for the pertinent method to be selected for different reagents. With its
simple and intuitive operation, it is the optimum instrument, not only for
routine work, but also
for sophisticated applications in the development laboratory. With the 901 Titrando, you have a titration system that can adapt to all imaginable requirements and demands no compromises. For example, the KF icons show you at a glance whether the instrument is still busy conditioning or whether you can start the water determination.
The electrode test and the newly created "safety stop" parameter prevent cell run-over during conditioning, i.e. if, for example, the electrode is not connected correctly or the titration cell is very humid, conditioning is stopped after a given time or after a given volume of KF reagent has been added. This new feature increases work safety in your laboratory.
Optional:
- Use the
803 KF Titration Stand for stirring and for manually replacing the exhausted working medium. With the integrated membrane pump, solvent can be aspirated or added without the cell having to be opened. This means vastly reduced conditioning times.
-
Automatic reagent replacement
The replacement of the exhausted KF reagent in the titration cell can be performed manually with the
803 KF Titration Stand. Automated replacement is even more convenient. You define the time and the instrument performs the replacement automatically together with a Dosino. In both cases, contact with harmful reagents is avoided.
-
The Dosino – The optimum KF dosing system
Thanks to its "Empty" command, the Dosino may be completely emptied; this makes it possible to eliminate the task of opening and cleaning the dosing unit, which is particularly annoying with KF reagents. Once the reagent is used up, the remaining content in the cylinder may be directly returned to the bottle or the titration vessel. Then the empty reagent bottle is replaced, the "preparing" routine may be carried out via Titrando and the titer determination of the new reagent is ready to be started. In contrast to the exchange unit, repeated rinsing prior to titer determination is not necessary; this means you save on both time and reagents. KF reagents tend to form crystals in the flat stopcock and in the tubing when left standing for long periods, thus necessitating tedious cleaning efforts. This, too, can be avoided with the "Empty" command.
