Coulometric and volumetric titrations
Should the water content of the samples be too high for coulometric determination, this will not be a problem for the 852 Titrando. This instrument can determine samples with water contents ranging from a few micrograms to contents of 100% without difficulty.
It is now possible to determine bromine indexes coulometrically with the 852 Titrando. The conventional coulometric titration cell can also be used for this application. The generator electrode without a diaphragm must be replaced with one that is equipped with a diaphragm. Anolyte and catholyte must also be adapted.
Automatic titration start
It can readily happen that the sample is injected into the titration vessel without the titration being started beforehand. If this is the case, then the water in the sample will be conditioned away and the measurement will need to be repeated. This will no longer be a problem for you with the 852 Titrando. The instruments start the titration automatically, as soon as the sample is added. This way, you save on reagents, sample and above all on precious time.
Dosing unit and Dosino
Dosinos and dosing units can be connected to one of the four MSB connectors of the 852 Titrando. These can be used for volumetric Karl Fischer titrations or also for the addition of sample, standard or auxiliary solutions such as solubility promoters. In addition, reagent replacement can be automated, which means that the cell does not need to be opened, thus excluding the possibility of moisture making its way inside. Long conditioning times after reagent replacements are thus avoided.
