The Mitsubishi Automatic Quick Furnace AQF-100 - a combustion preparation station - is easily combined with Metrohm ion chromatography equipment. This results in a fully automated combustion system. This opens up a completely new range of samples, from viscous to solid, for fast and accurate elemental analysis.

Thermal oxidative digestion permits the determination of anions in all kinds of combustible substances by ion chromatography. In particular, the total halogen content and also the sulphur content can be determined. The halogens are determined as fluoride, chloride, bromide and iodide and sulfur as sulfate. Combustion Ion Chromatography, one technique amongst others, is one of the most powerful analytical tools for such analyses in various application fields. The main focus is the monitoring of banned toxic compounds in the electronic industry. Other application fields are e.g. in the petroleum, coal or semiconductor industries, which have to monitor these compounds since they are sources of corrosion or toxication. Typical samples which can be analysed with CIC are therefore oil, waste plastics, glass, electronic waste, PCBs, all kinds of fuels and many more. |
