| Ionic concentrations that are too high overload the
column, which results in a poor chromatographic separation
and therefore adversely affects the accuracy of the
measurement. To get accurate results the determined
concentrations need to be within the limits of calibration.
The Metrohm
Professional IC systems allows the automatic inline
dilution of each sample. Dilution takes place at an
external position of the Professional Sample Processor
– Pump – Injector. In combination with an
additional valve at the Sample Processor the Dosino
carries out the high-precision liquid handling steps.
The MagIC
Net software controls the dilution steps and carries
out all calculations.
After the analysis MagIC Net compares the results with
the predefined concentration limits. If the measured
concentration is out of these limits, the software calculates
a new dilution factor, dilutes and re-injects the sample
automatically.
